Over time, Jerry has developed a simple but effective system of accounting for package stores. All of the pertinent information regarding financial activities of a particular store are entered into a monthly Excel spreadsheet. There are multiple sections where checks, daily sales and deposit and inventory information are entered. This monthly spreadsheet, along with bank and credit card statements and payroll journals maintain “books” on an ongoing basis.
If you have a store in another city miles away, each store can maintain its own spreadsheets and email or fax the information to our office. This system is a simple and accurate measure of where your business stands during the year. The success of a store is easily measurable as the year progresses, allowing owners to better plan for income taxes prior to deadlines.
